This is from a comment on the blog that was written today. This patient was raped in a drugged state.
I encourage anyone who has had a bad experience to contact me directly via author at harvalan.com.
You are not alone. These holds are illegal.
It is urgent to report this ASAP to agencies as some will not take complaints that are more than a year old.

I was admitted under a 72 hr hold, due to a mess up with my meds., and the intake was delighted I had Medicare. As soon as I was admitted, I was told that my stay will be 96 hrs because the review team does not work on weekends. I was assaulted which prolonged my stay even longer, and raped unbeknownst to me as I was drugged when it happened. I only knew because I got myself checked upon discharged.
There are some very bad staff there, and some good ones. Be careful of this place, it is really a scary place. I was never so terrified in my life whilst there. This place has got to be investigated as a lot of their patients of varying ages (school aged children to elderly) are extremely vulnerable, and can be made worse from certain staff actions. This place is not a Bonafide treatment center but a place of taking advantage of the mentally ill for money and billing insurance, in guise of treatment. There are some good staff who try to do good. Know your patient rights and insist on them, and do retain a lawyer while there, so they know they need to not cross the line.
